Côté concerts, en plus de nombreuses prestations en tête d'affiche, au fil de sa riche carrière, Rondat a joué en première partie de Blue Oyster Cult (1989), Bruce/Baker/Moore (1994), participé aux Monsters Of Rock (1991, avec entre autres AC/DC, Queensrÿche et Metallica), et a même été invité par Joe Satriani sur les 14 dates françaises du G3. Depuis cette dernière tournée, en 1998, on avait guère entendu parler de ses activités solos, Patrick enregistrant 2 albums et tournant à travers le monde avec Elegy. Travailleur appliqué, notre homme n'a heureusement pas oublié que depuis bientôt 15 ans, de nombreux fans suivent accord par accord la course de ses doigts sur le manche de son Ibanez (marque par laquelle il est endorsé depuis 1999). C'est ainsi qu'au fil des mois, ce musicien de référence a composé les 10 morceaux, dont une adaptation de " Partita n°1 pour violon solo ", une œuvre de Jean Sébastien Bach, qui figurent sur " An Ephemeral World ", titre de ce nouvel album studio, son premier depuis bientôt 5 ans ! L'enregistrement s'est déroulé à la fin de l'année dernière, en Allemagne, au Bazement Studio avec Markus Teske (Vanden Plas) comme ingénieur du son, Dirk Bruinenberg (Elegy, Adagio) à la batterie et le fidèle Patrice Guers (Inner Voices, Rhapsody) à la basse. Après une sympathique soirée de lancement 14 avril à Paris à la Cave Le Chapelais, durant tout le mois de juin, Patrick est parti sur les routes de l'Hexagone pour une série de démonstrations de guitare qui passait par 22 villes où, chaque fois, les fans ont répondu présents. Le 12 septembre 2004, Rondat était à l'affiche du festival de Raismes, dans le Nord, avec Angra, After Forever, Rage et Primal Fear. Depuis il a accompagné Jean-Michel Jarre en Chine, pour le concert géant qui s'est déroulé le 10 octobre à Pékin. Un show retransmis à travers le Monde et qui est maintenant disponible en DVD. De retour dans nos contrées, en novembre, Patrick Rondat a tourné avec des suédois de Freak Kitchen et de Yann Armellino. Cette série de 11 concerts a rencontré le succès partout en Province et s'est soldée par un show quasi complet à l'Elysée Montmartre à Paris. Pour le moment Patrick travaille sur l'élaboration de son premier DVD qui sera filmé le 30 avril prochain à l'occasion d'un concert qui se déroulera à Bobigny, en banlieue parisienne. With the release of "An Ephemeral World", his new studio album, Patrick Rondat confirms that he's without any doubt one of the best guitar player in France... To his credit already Patrick has 4 instrumental albums, "Just for Fun" (1989), "Rape of the Earth" (1991) - both re-mastered and re-issued with some bonus materiel in 2002 - "Amphibia" (1996), "On the Edge" (1999) and a 'Live' album, "Amphibia Tour" (1997). This multi talented guitarist has also accompanied Jean Michel Jarre on stage and in studio, participated on two albums of The Consortium Project, and worked as a member of the Dutch band Elegy for the last 4 years. During his rich career Patrick has played many 'top of the bill' concerts as well as playing support band for Blue Oyster Cult (1989), Bruce/Baker/Moore (1994), participating in Monsters of Rock (1991 - with amongst others AC/DC, Queensrÿche and Metallica), and in 1998 Patrick played the 14 French dates of the G3 Tour with Joe Satriani. Since this last Tour in 1998 we have not heard very much about his solo activities, but during this time Patrick has worked with Elegy - recording 2 albums and touring with the band. Fortunately our man is a dedicated musician and worker and never forgets the many fans who have followed him for 15 years, note-by-note, song-by-song with their fingers on the fret board of his Ibanez guitar (the mark Patrick has endorsed since 1999). It is with this in his mind that this great musician has composed the 10 pieces, including an adaptation of a classical piece by Johan Sebastian Bach, that will complete this new album - the release of which is scheduled for April 19th in France and late May in the rest of the World. Recording of the album took place from October to December 2003 at the Bazment Studios in Germany, with Markus Teske (Vanden Plas) as sound engineer / co-producer, Dirk Bruinenburg / drums (Elegy, Adagio) and the faithful Patrice Guers / bass (seen recently on stage with Rhapsody). After a successful release party in Paris on April 14th, in June 2004, Patrick Rondat was on the road for a "sold out" series of guitar demos, which took place in 22 different cities in France. On September 12th, he did play at the Raismes Fest (North for France) together with Angra, After Forever, Rage and Primal Fear. Then he went back on stage together with Jean-Michel Jarre for a huge concert, which took place in Pekin, China, on October 10th. A gigantic show which was broadcasted all over the World, and now available on DVD. Back home, in November 2004, Freak Kitchen from Sweden joined Patrick Rondat for a 12 dates French tour. Rondat is now working on the conception of his first live DVD which will be filmed on April 30th at Canal 93 in Bobigny (suburb of Paris).
